Dear Colleagues,

Below please find the First Announcement and Call for Papers for the International Topical Meeting “VVER – 2010, Experience & Perspectives”. This Meeting is a follow-up of the successful conference on VVER nuclear power plants, held in Prague in 2007.

CONFERENCE PURPOSE

The purpose of the conference is to exchange information on all aspects of safe, reliable and economically competitive operation of NPPs with VVER reactors. The main objectives of the meeting are to analyze current experiences in the operation of the plants to discuss future plans and to identify potential issues.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Utilities, Vendors and Suppliers, Governmental and Regulatory Bodies, Architect-Engineers, TSOs, R&D organizations.

PRESENTATION CANDIDATES

Government and Regulatory Bodies are expected to speak about strategies and policies, safety revisions, licensing procedures and regulatory practices.

Utilities and vendors of nuclear power plants are invited to present their operating experiences, plans and Unit modernization experiences, etc.

Designers and research organizations are invited to present results of their activities which contribute to the implementation and management of VVER innovation and safety enhancement projects.                                                                                                                               up

CALL FOR PAPERS

ABSTRACTS

Authors are asked to submit abstracts before 31 August 2010. The abstracts should be submitted by e-mail attachment sent to Jaroslav Blažek (e-mail: blazek@teris.cz ). Preferred format is MS Word.
Abstracts must be in English and should include:
1. The title of the paper.
2. Full names of the authors (the presenting author should be underlined), the business address and e-mail of the speaker.
3. The extent of the summary must not exceed one page (A4).
Authors may indicate their preference for the presentation in oral or poster form.
Notification of acceptance will be sent by the 15 September 2010.

PRESENTATIONS

Extent of papers is not limited, however the time for oral presentation will be limited. Full-length papers should be submitted as an e-mail attachment sent to the Program Committee Executive Secretary (contact person Jaroslav Blažek, e-mail: blazek@teris.cz) by 30 September 2010. Preferred format is MS Word.

PROCEEDINGS

A copy of the Book of Abstracts will be distributed at the conference. The Proceedings containing full-length papers presented at the conference will be published in CD form following the conference and sent to participants.
