NUCLEAR FUEL WORKSHOP

Dear Colleagues,
we would like to invite you to the Nuclear Fuel Workshop
with international participation.
Workshop will be held on April 27 30, 2009 in the Congress
Centre BABYLON in Liberec. The city of Liberec is situated about
100 km northward Prague.
As traditionally on the workshop, operators of NPPs from the
Czech Republic, Slovak Republic and Russian Federation,
specialists from organizations providing regulation or technical
support for them, and representatives of nuclear fuel supplier,
that is of TVEL corporation, will participate.

Workshop purpose and targets
Target of the workshop is to provide overview of status and
perspectives of nuclear fuel cycles with fuel of Russian origin.
This workshop follows tradition of meetings that took place
alternately in the Czech and Slovak Republic. In the year 2009
it is the first time when the scope will be extended also by
issues of fuel for VVER-1000 reactors.
Workshop venue
Workshop will be held in the Congress Centre Babylon, Nitranskα

Workshop topics
The scope of the workshop meeting is divided into following
sessions:
1. Experience with TVEL fuel at the NPPs with VVER-440 in the
Czech and Slovak Republic
1. and Russian Federation.
2. Fuel cycles and their upgrade, SW for fuel management.
3. Safety analyses and fuel licensing.
4. Testing of irradiated fuel.
5. Fuel production and transportation, quality assurance.
6. Programs for nuclear fuel improvement.
7. Fuel and fuel cycles for VVER-1000 reactors.
Meeting language
Meeting languages will be Russian (preferably) and English.

Workshop proceedings
All presentations will be available on the CD. Book of abstracts
in the printed form will not be provided.
Conference fee
Workshop registration fee is 500,00 Czech crowns (about 20
Euros) per person and includes participation at the workshop and
cost of CD.

Accommodation price includes:
1. Breakfast in a buffet form.
2. Unlimited entry to AQUAPARK. Opening time for public is from
10:00 till 22:00 hrs. For hotel
2. guests AQUAPARK is open from
08:00 till 09:00 hrs.
3. Unlimited entry to LUNAPARK. Opening time is from 10:00 till
20:00 hrs.
4. Unlimited entry to iQPARK. Opening time is from 10:00 till
20:00 hrs.
Accommodation price does not include:
1. Drinks and snacks from mini bars
2. Phone calls and internet use from the room
3. Parking fee in a covered parking lot (100 CZK incl. VAT/day)
Each participant charges his accommodation costs individually
at the hotel reception desk.

Russian participants from the Prague airport will be provided.)

Social program
It is possible to provide excursion following participants
interest and on their own costs
Supposed program:
09:00 departure from the hotel to the Jetěd Mountain with the
TV-and view-tower
lunch
Chateau Sychrov
transfer of foreign participants to the Prague airport (time of
arrival to the airport will be set following departure time to
Moscow, an evening service is envisaged).
Estimated price of the trip will be 550 CZK (approx. 22 EUR)
In case no trip will be realized, the transfer to Prague airport
will be provided on agreement.
