Theme of the Congress

"ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES"

The main aim of Congress is to promote awareness of the fast emerging interdisciplinary areas of Condition Monitoring and Diagnostic Engineering Management.

The Congress and Exhibition will take place at the DIPLOMAT HOTEL****, situated inside the city of Prague, not far from the Prague airport. The underground, bus and tram network provide easy connections from Congress place to the airport and all parts of Prague.





EXHIBITION

The exhibition, linked to the Congress subjects forms an integral part of the Congress program where the major suppliers of sensors, equipment, evaluation software and services can present products to participants from industrial and engineering companies, laboratories, research institutes and universities.

SPOUSE PROGRAM

The following program covers the principal monuments and historical treasures of Prague and its vicinity.

1. PRAGUE - A HALF DAY CITY TOUR (JEWISH TOWN)
(June 12, 2008, a half-day tour, price: 20 EURO)

A trip to Jewish history. During this walking tour you will see the only Central European Jewish quarter that survived the holocaust. You will stroll trough the Jewish Cemetery, visit some of six surviving synagogues and Kafka's house. You will walk trough Maislova street and reach the Old Town Square, where your journey to past end.

2. CITY TOUR – A DAY IN PRAGUE
(June 12, 2008, a day tour, the price: 25 EURO)

During the Grand City Tour you get the general impression of the „Golden City“, completed by walks and inside visits. By bus, you pass the State Opera, the National Museum, Wenceslas Square with the St. Wenceslas Statue, and then get all the way to the Prague Castle district. Here you enjoy a walking tour, pass by the Archbishop Palace, you visit St. Vitus' Cathedral, the Royal Palace and the Golden Lane. Then you continue by bus, across the Vltava river to Pařνžskα Street passing through the Jewish Ghetto. The tour finishes at the Old Town Square surrounded by the Old Town Hall with the famous Astronomical Clock, Tύn Cathedral and St. Nicholas church.

3. CRUISE - PRAGUE BY NIGHT - recommended evening activity
(June 13, 2008, 2,5 hours tour, the price: 25 EURO)

Grand panoramic cruise through Prague, more then 2 hours of fascinating experiences and panoramic view of the most famous historical monuments in Prague. Typical Czech dinner served beneath the arches of the historical Charles Bridge, by the banks of the Lesser Town.

4. KUTNΑ HORA – UNESCO TOWN
(June 14, 2008, the tour outside Prague, the price: 35 EURO)

This half-day tour takes you approx. 65 km from Prague to Kutnα Hora, the ancient silver-mining town, founded in the 13th century, full of splendid Gothic monuments. The walking tour through the town includes a visit of the St. Barbora’s Cathedral with its valuable paintings and the former Royal Mine that once produced Prague raps. Up to our days Kutnα Hora still presents itself as a medieval town.

5. KARLOVY VARY SPA / Karlsbad
(June 15, 2008, a day tour, the price: 60 EURO)

A visit to this well-known and charming spa, situated 130 km west of Prague. The fame of the twelve thermal mineral springs (with temperature of 30 – 72 C) has attracted visitors for many centuries. A visit to the spring for a mineral water testing along with lunch at a typical local restaurant are include in the programme.

6. ČESKέ KRUMLOV – UNESCO TOWN
(June 15, 2008, a day tour, the price: 60 EURO)

The tour shows you the charming South Bohemian countryside, full of little villages and ponds, and reaches the medieval town of Českύ Krumlov. The castle is the second largest one in the Czech lands (after the Prague Castle). You will see interiors of this splendid castle as well as the old town with romantic lanes and newly reconstructed houses.
