This conference will cover a number of crucial aspects in the area of climate change both within the EU and internationally, aiming to give answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. Discussants will address policy relating to the EU ETS and international emissions trading. Speakers will specially focus on issues and potential problems that are common for the Central Europe region.
 


Location

Hotel Jalta is located in the majestic Wenceslas Square, the famous Prague landmark which breathes history and culture. Ideally situated for sightseeing, entertainment and access to the city’s financial centre.

Hotel Jalta is within walking distance from the Main Railway Station and underground stations (Můstek, Muzeum, lines A, B and C). Surroundings abound with quality restaurants, fashionable bars and a variety of shops.

The aim of this introductory session is to give an overview of up-to-date experiences and to share some expectations with regard to future changes both within the EU ETS and in an international context. High-level panellists from the public sector, state administration, industry and the European Commission should ensure a fruitful debate based on a series of short presentations.

This session will give an overview of the EU ETS Phase I and II expressing diff erent points of views on practical implications for the future. A presentation from a key-note speaker will stimulate the discussion.
